Dr. Difini has been a practicing neurologist since 1987. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Difini graduated magna cum laude in 1978 with a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from John Carroll University in Cleveland and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1982. Following an internship in internal medicine at The Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., he completed his neurology residency and a fellowship in electromyography at the University of Miami in 1987. Dr. Difini then remained at the University of Miami as an academic neurologist until 1992, when he left to enter private practice in Gastonia, NC, continuing there as the senior neurologist until 2013. At that time, the call of the grandchildren became too great, prompting a move to Wilmington, NC, where he took a position as Staff Neurologist for the Intrepid Spirit Concussion Recovery Center at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.
Dr. Difini’s areas of interest are general adult neurology, integrative neurology, headaches, concussion care, and electromyography. He is board certified in neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine. In his free time, he enjoys the music of Bruce Springsteen and classic rock, following baseball as well as all of the Cleveland sports teams, Ohio State football, and going to the beach with his wife of over 30 years.
